A great program that wasn’t clicking for Reagan

We enrolled Reagan in Take Flight, the structured literacy dyslexia program from Scottish Rite for Children. I want to be fair and clear about this. It is a serious, research based program that helps thousands of kids every year.

But it is a long, slow road, and month after month, the click we were hoping for just wasn’t coming for Reagan. Watching something that works so well for so many kids not quite reach your own is its own particular kind of ache.

I don’t think that was anyone’s fault, and certainly not hers. It just wasn’t meeting her the way she needed to be met, and it left me wondering what a version built entirely around her might look like.
