My daughter Reagan is dyslexic, and I couldn’t find software that met her where she is, so I started building it myself. Reagan’s Way isn’t live yet, and right now it’s built for one reader: her. Why I'm building this
Dyslexia isn't a reading problem. It's a mismatch between how a brain learns and how most tools are built. Reagan is sharp, funny, and endlessly curious. Reading just doesn't come the way the classroom assumes it will.
The apps we tried were either clinical and joyless, or games with no real science underneath. I wanted something built aroundhow a dyslexic kid actually decodes, not bolted on as an afterthought. So I'm making it, one evening at a time, and sharing the whole thing openly.
She’s the whole reason for this.
Reagan was diagnosed at seven. The hardest part wasn’t the diagnosis. It was watching a kid who loves stories start to believe she was "bad at reading." She’s not. The tools just weren’t built for her. Every feature I build, I test with her at the kitchen table. If it doesn’t make her want to keep going, it doesn’t ship. That’s the only success metric that matters here.
Every child deserves to be seen for their strengths
Reagan’s Way was born out of our desire to help our daughter grow into a confident young woman who simply learns differently. For years, we watched her struggle as she was repeatedly pulled out of class, only to be placed in dyslexia programs that were stretched beyond capacity and unable to provide the one on one support she truly needed. It was heartbreaking to hear her call herself “dumb” simply because she couldn’t keep pace with a system that wasn’t designed for the way she learns.
We believe every child deserves to be seen for their strengths, not measured by a single standard. The world doesn’t need more people who simply follow directions. It needs unique thinkers, creative problem solvers, and courageous minds willing to see things differently. That’s the future we want for Reagan, and for every child like her.
As parents, we realized we couldn’t wait for the system to change, so we are building something ourselves. We are creating an AI learning coach designed specifically for children like Reagan. It adapts to what each child is interested in, incorporates personalized sight words, uses speech to text and text to speech, listens as they read aloud, provides gentle, real time feedback, and celebrates progress every step of the way. Instead of forcing children to fit a curriculum, we are creating a learning experience that fits the child.
Reagan’s Way is more than a tool. It is a commitment to helping every child build confidence, discover the joy of learning, and realize that learning differently is not a weakness.
It’s a superpower.
